CD Reviews

The Perfect Punk Album
D. Brockhage | Santa Cruz | 08/22/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I am a punk rocker at heart, and will be to the day I die. I have many friends, however, who never immersed themselves in this subculture the way I did, and so don't always understand what I see in such simplistic music with abrasive vocals, and, often, sloppy production. This CD explains all this. This CD has absolutly everything a punk rock CD should have. Sing-along choruses, blistring drum beats, witty song titles, and amazing socially concious lyrics. The people who complain about being unable to understand what Dillinger Four is singing about would do well to open up that little booklet that came with the CD and read the lyrics. Dillinger Four is a band that suckers you in with the classic punk abrasiveness, and then hits you with intelligent lyrics that put most poets and writers to shame. If only all social critics were as astute and honest with their assesments of what it's like to be an American today, we might have a smarter group of people running around. If you like punk rock, or you did one day, this is the record that will remind you what you saw in all this craziness in the first place."

"Probably one of the best punk bands in the last 10 years and this is one of the best debut albums. alot of catchy and aggressive songs with a great message. Very cool band."

"As my fellow comrades have mentioned, this is what pop-punk should be. Every single song on the disc rocks...that's not too often of an occurance."
