CD Reviews

New Wave of Surf Rock
J. Feinberg | Los Angeles, CA | 03/02/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I'm a big fan of this stuff - Dick Dale, Bomboras, etc.. And this CD fits perfectly in my collection. These guys know how to dish out the surf rock, but they also spice it up with some great chops and amazing musicianship. Guess you have to be good to get on Steve Vai's label!A few of these are originals, a few are covers, and a few are medleys. I love it - the perfect CD to drive down the coast to, hang with the buddies to, or just plain groove to. Check it out!"

"Fans of surf, garage, punk, rockabilly, and Link Wray buy this CD - now. Also head on down to southern Florida and catch them live. They will not disappoint you and you will love being drenched in their Reverb. Let me also add that I think Rick Rossano is one of the best guitarists in the US. I'm not alone in my view - GuitarOne named him one of America's ten best guitarists. I would put him in the top five. He has mastered all styles - surf, rock, blues, country, etc. Go Cat Go!"
One Of The All-Time Great Surf Records!!!!

"If you are a true devotee of the surf genre, you absolutely HAVE to have this album! The Dillengers' interpretations of your favorites are spot-on; they also have a couple of medleys will make you marvel at the bands' inventiveness and sense of fun. And then, there's that lead guitarist - truly masterful; everything that you may have read or heard about Rick Rossano's extensive command of the guitar is true. The record is evenly balanced and is truly great music to either cruise around town to or turn up to "11" when opening it up out on Route 66. Get this one today!"
