"The destiny of Dennis Emmanuel Brown resonates in this cd of his early recordings. You will hear a very young Crown Prince, at the beginning of his musical journey. The production of this re-issued recording is outstanding. The clarity and depth of Dennis Brown's voice is almost haunting at times. I place him high above, in the legendary heaven with Marvin Gaye. The enduring and loving marriage of reggae and R&B is poignantly captured on this cd. Tracks include the classics, Silhouettes, Musical Heatwave, and How Could I Let You Get Away. Perhaps my favorite track is the beautifully composed, Concentration. To hear Dennis Brown's voice accented by an organ and flute is unique and absorbing on this track. Other notable tracks include, I Didn't Know and Let Me Down Easy. Although I would have preferred to hear more of Dennis Brown's voice on the bonus tracks, Trojan presents a very special Dennis Brown experience. In the maze of Dennis Brown's work and the numerous compilations released, this cd is a gem for all of us who miss the Crown Prince of Reggae."
