Synopsis

Album Description
DENIM & DIAMONDS live, has all the adrenaline of a RECLAIM THE STREETS action under siege by riot cops shooting flash bang grenades and rubber bullets. The band features culture-jamming-celeb TYLER JACOBSEN who has collaborated with ..TRAIL OF THE DEAD, and is one of masterminds behind RE-CODE.COM, and CONGLOMCO.ORG. DENIM & DIAMONDS is a full on glitch-core assault that literally jams the cultural highways of commerce, yet keep the danse-partay convergence going until the wee hours of the morning. Belting out strange hooks and beats with in beats, D&D come to the rescue. With duct tape red crosses on their backs they revert to their true vocations, namely to save each and every one of us from peril! You think you don't need saving? If you're suddenly corralled by a rag-tag gang of medical staff on motorized hospital trolleys, powered by synth-pop touchstones DEVO and contemporaries like LADYTRON, the engines de-wired and re-configured by AN ALBATROSS and the more recent cabal of glitch maniacs, the "doctors" diagnosing out tales of a "Disneyland in Iraq" and intimating involvement in advanced cyborg research, then... trust me, by the time you've tried to digest and compute a method to this insanity, your limbs will be joltedly moving up and down, you'll be slowly shuffling from side to side... yes, you'll have been dragged into this fucked up, but cool fucked up video game and turned into a Space Invader, and you'll be simply having too much fun to question this radical re-interpretation of the Hippocratic oath. When this record stops spinning you'll find yourself lying in the parking lot, the street, wherever you were, your memory erased, the only hint of their erstwhile presence being the pepper spray pellets lodged in the wall and the free medical bill, written out in spaghetti letters/ numerals and dotted, dashed and lined on the back of a show flyer. Good citizens, please do not settle for standard medical practices, break out the gas masks and emergen-C and hit the streets! Dial 01010101 on this CD today!

Reclaim the future! Release the past!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is really something: part Cyberpunk manual, part Thomas Paine tract, Denim 'n Diamonds make certain you get your credit's worth with each and every second of glitchblitz pop. From the rallying cry for Street Medics to Unite through the paranoid plea for a new Disneyland in Iraq and back for a weird reminder for the Medics to indeed Unite (with none other than Mercury Rev's Suzanne Thorpe on flute), DnD take a voyage through extremely undiscovered country."
