CD Reviews

Dazzling Debut!
Gene Crumley | Davis, California | 09/10/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This debut CD from the Volkert-Walther Trio is stunning in its complexity, and yet subtle in its interpretation. I recommend this CD to anyone who is serious about Schumann, as well as intelligent about Tchaikovsky and Beethoven. There is a richness in this trio that is captivating. I look forward with eagerness to their next recording.More, Volkert-Walther Trio. More!"
Delectable Indeed!

"I don't know when I last enjoyed the sinfully sweet sounds of a string trio this much! From the bittersweet cello to the rich caramel of the viola, this is chamber music at it's very best. The violin playing adds a melodious crunch which I can still feel on my tasebuds. This is one sweet cd!"
The more you listen, the more you hear!

"I'm not normally a trio fan, but the wonderful ensemble keeps pulling me back, and instead of "just" playing the CD for background music, I have to stop and only listen. Highly recommend!"
