Synopsis

Product Description
Regarded as the sister album to Demographic 1, Lady Fingers or Stingers is indeed softer and more focused than that debut. It seems that Croix has exercised restraint (for the most part), favoring chilled rhythms over anxious bombast. And there's still plenty of the latter, especially on Fondue Shop and Friday's Feathery Night. His true talent, it seems, lies in the more off-kilter tracks such as Black Widow, Don't Call, and Your Trembling Touch. Also blissfully present is the plethora of Beatlesque tracks; Frizzy on Holiday, Daphne, Melisa for a Day, Christine, Guaranteed, His Sabrina, and Dear Joanna. Perhaps the oddest track (and possibly the most creative) is Harlequin Season. An almost epic (though, surprisingly, not in length) conglomeration of themes in the vein of Happiness is a Warm Gun by, you guessed it, the Beatles. In fact it could be said that this is Croix's Beatles album, leaning more towards the raw eclecticism of the White Album than say, A Hard Day's Night. ~ Millie Torres (2007)
