When four salty veterans sought to shed their metal roots and bring a new flavor to the table, Deathblow was formed. At the time vocalist Paul Genet (AZAZEL, ARIA) and drummer Jeremy Stowers (KILLWHITNEYDEAD, AZAZEL, END OF ALL,) recruited bassist Josh Mclaughlin (OUTRUN THE STORM) and guitarist Chris Sheets (SENECA) for a new project they were starting, the regional scene was in desperate need of a change. Beginning in the summer of 2004, DEATHBLOW's aim has been to bring fun, no-frills, and NY influenced hardcore to the Tar Heel state. Citing influences such as Sepultura, Hatebreed, Harvest, Indecision, and Buried Alive, the band has been storming up and down the east coast, bringing the mosh to each city, and laying waste to all they encounter. Old school two-step melodies that take cues from Youth of Today and Warzone complement their Kerry King/Dimebag Darrell machine gun riffing. With the releasae of their highly anticipated first full length, Deathblow is ready to show thier love for the hardcore lifestyle, that has so often been imitaded, but not properly represented. The Hardcore faithful will clearly show that this record is one of the quintessential hardcore records of 2006. Deathblow is indeed a force to be reckoned with. Get ready.
