CD Reviews

Sooooo Scary!
Chad Bagley | Shanghai China/Provo, UT | 09/18/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Only the person who does my laundry knows how much terror this CD strikes in me. Ever since I heard "Hank Watson Stalks the Earth" I've had nightmares of being tortured by rabid poodles. After listening to "Down in the Lab", I developed a twitch in my right eye and started walking with a limp (that was four years ago). If there is a god, then why is Deadbolt allowed to torment me?This music gives me the heebie-jeebies. I used to be a productive member of society, but after listening to Deadbolt I had to quit my job as a stockbroker and find part-time work at a mortuary.I think the members of Deadbolt are bad people- someone should spank them."

"All Deadbolt is good, but this is the best. Better yet, see them live so Harley can tell you what to do with yourself! If you want to be scared buy an album by the scariest band in the world."
Deadbolt Stalks the Earth
Frighteneer | Cincinnati | 02/18/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This debut cd by the San Diego based band sets the tone for all that has followed. The guitar riffs of "Hank Weston Stalks the Earth" or "Down in the Lab" are the essence of creepy! Singer Harley Davidson's voice has a way of lurking in your subconscious and resurfacing to haunt you when you least expect it. While the band has moved on to do bigger, better cds, this one is a tried and true favorite and worth owning if you're a casual listener or psychobilly/voodoobilly fanatic. Once Deadbolt grabs you, they never let go!"
