This song includes everything De La Soul is known for, including a mix of interesting rhyme structures and an eclectic choice of music to complement their light-hearted lyrics. Although not as pop-rap sounding as their well-known single Me, Myself, and I, Plug Tunin' is a more accurate representation of their debut Three Feet High and Rising. I would encourage any new De La Soul fans to buy this single first before purchasing any of their earlier albums because the sheer originality of the music can be a turn-off for some people."
