Classic!
Tony Cotton | UK | 01/11/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It's not difficult to understand why ThreeSixZero provokes such extreme responses. From the dark opening track "Guardians" through the astonishing extremes of light and shade that pervades this album, the artist paints a glorious picture with such expressive and imaginative brush strokes, that it would be almost impossible for any listener to be instantly gratified by the 78 minutes it has to offer. I mean, how different can music get when comparing, say, the beautiful "China skies" or "Akirima" to the ethnic vocals and confusion on "Listen" or "Change and Adapt" and the rhythmic excursions found on "Dark side of Pariadise" or "Wishes"?! David has his own unique style, and is not afraid to experiment or to write music with soul and melody, which is probably why he is still around sucessfully turning out great albums like this one! This album shows that he is a musician and a composer of some worth, not just another keyboard player in an already overcrowded scene. If there is a critisism of ThreeSixZero, it has to be that probably some of the ideas could have been developed more (making a double album?), and why oh why was the magnificant Sygyzy edited down from its original 10.00 minute length? (later released on the awesome Blue album). But these are minor gripes because ThreeSixZero is one album that genuinly deserves the tag "Classic" and will still be around in years to come when most other albums in the genre are long forgotten!"
