American composer David Van Vactor (1906-1992), in response to a request made by the director of Knoxville Choral Society, J. B. Lyle, composed a new work for chorus and orchestra bearing the title Episodes - Jesus Christ. The text was compiled by the composer s daughter, Raven Harwood, and is drawn from the four Gospels (chiefly the fourth) and from Acts, Romans, I Corinthians and I Timothy. This recording is from the premier performance at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee, on March 2, 1977.
