Synopsis

Album Description
Stories in the Sky, David Tolk's second new age piano CD, contains compositions based upon the subjects of nature, travel, family, and literature. As an artist seeks to capture the essence of his subjects on canvas, Tolk effectively captures images and concepts which inspire to create beautiful instrumental piano music. Tolk's piano compositions are enhanced by lush classical orchestration and melodic solos on English horn and viola.

CD Reviews

Incredible album!

"I first heard "Cranberry Island" at a concert where David Tolk performed with Peter Breinholt. Since then, I've been in love with Tolk's peaceful, thought-provoking compilations. I recently took a trip back east to VA and the drive through the blue ridge mountains while listening to "Reflection" and "Pretty Girl" recreated some of the most treasured times of my life. Definitly one of the greatest writers of all time."
"Stories the Sky" by David Tolk is brilliantly moving

"When I was first introduced to "Stories in the Sky" by David Tolk, I thought it was going to be another piano cd comparable to George Winston (which is not necessarily bad). I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to it for the first time. Not only does it contain moving original piano pieces, it includes acoustic guitar, strings and voice! It is not cheesy like Jon Tesh. It sounds as if it comes straight from the heart and soul of Tolk. I grew up with music in my home and I appreciate all kinds of music. David Tolk's cd is very soothing and beautiful. I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up!- Rebecca Clark (27 years old)"
