"David's first two CD's after the split of Deep Purple show a much more versatile singer than many would have guessed. With songwriting partner Mickey Moody and a host of session mainstays David recorded two albums worth of R&B based pop that he can well be proud of. Both albums sound like they were fun to make and a relaxed atmostphere drifts from the speakers. No heavy metal here just good times and good tunes. Mr Coverdale would do well to look to this time for direction now the metal bubble has burst."
