This CD contains such standard titans as the Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue and the French Ouverture, but also includes the brief and fascinating chorales, normally associated with the organ. His use of the 17th-century French-style harpsichord is also novel, lending a woody, earthy tone to the music that is a welcome respite from the typical metallic jangle of most harpsichords.
