Synopsis

Album Description
"Denying the West begins with waking up and ends with death. It's an intriguing, beautiful work of art." - MammothPress.com Denying the West is the powerhouse debut from Chicago's Das Kapital. It features ten melodic, raw rock `n' roll tracks which hearken back to the greats of Midwestern punk such as Hüsker Dü and The Replacements. Singer/guitarist Marc Ruvolo is known for interesting lyrical subjects, and he certainly does not disappoint here, offering up sincere meditations on freedom, religion and death alongside urgent, insistent tunes.

CD Reviews

Chi Town Punk-Rock
Sam Hain | dallas texas | 06/16/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is a great album. I had the opportunity to see this band in Denton, TX, and they rocked. I bought the CD at the show and it has maintained steady rotation on my stereo.

This isn't just generico punk, it is good music. The band is tight, the tunes are quick and catchy, but not over-produced and poppy.

There is even a song about the bad kid's dog from "Where the Red Fern Grows." The whole CD is packed (although pretty short, it is a punk album after all) with good tunes. If you like a good punk sound from an indie band, you will probably like this."
