Bassist Darryl Hall surrounded himself with a handful of experienced musicians for this debut CD of original music. Through their swinging, versatile soulfulness, they bring his seven original compositions to life. Subtle Touch brings a melodic resonance to the ears of the listener, containing a large variation of musical settings from quartet and trio to duo and solo (Darryl's cover of Oscar Pettiford's Trcotism), exposing the lyrical and rhythmic nuances of the bass.

"This isn't a solo album by Daryl Hall, one-half of the Hall & Oates blue-eyed soul duo. Whoever this Darryl is (note the double 'r'), he is obviously very talented. But amazon.com shouldn't have packaged this CD with Daryl Hall's."
