Hang (pronounced hung) and more to come, hopefully!
Kreuger | 08/25/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I just bought a copy of this from the artist himself at the 48th Philadelphia Folk Festival (2009), and its had a happy home in my car stereo since. Its a pretty cool album, the lead instrument is the Hang . . a hardened metal drum played by the hand, that looks like a flying saucer.

This EP sets the Hang in center stage. In Mr. Bucci's hands we have compelling compositions using this marvelous instrument. It sounds simultaneously percussive and ethereal. This is well worth the cash. And the only reason it doesn't rate a full 5 stars is because after seeing him perform with a cello and an electric bass at the Folk Festival, this recording just isn't as compelling. The juxtaposition of sounds: the percussive bell like tones of the hang, the rough distorted tones of the bass, and the singing cello; were really unique. The only things missing from the live performance were the guitar and the drums heard on the second track. And that track, "Let Me Go" pretty closely approximates the sound and arrangement of those live performances."
