"This is one great CD - MY FAVORITE FOR 2005- and let's hope that she will do many more like this. First, she has an incredible voice that is distinctive and powerful. Next she is a great guitar player and what she plays is hard jamming rock. This is anything but soft acoustic guitar backing ballads and light pop.
Lastly, her songwriting and choice of material is good and it suits her style and talents well. If she gets more airplay and exposure, she will become very well known."

"I listen regularly to a podcast called Bandana Blues that features great blues music, commentary and interviews with artists. I'll be doing a music podcast review in the upcoming days. On their last podcast, they featured a song called "Devil In Disguise" by Danielia Cotton and let me tell you, it absolutely blew me away. The song has power and raw emotion and her voice just rips through it and sends chills down my spine. I later found out that she also plays the guitar. Now I can't stop listening to her self titled EP and full album release, "Small White Town".
In the music and voice I hear touches of Janis Joplin, Black Crowes, Lenny Kravitz and Melissa Etheridge.
From her bio she says that her early influences were AC/DC, Judas Priest and Todd Rundgren. She also mentions her mother who was a gifted jazz singer and the gospel music at church as influences. She's played all the big local clubs in NYC and has shared the stage with Living Color, Sister Hazel and others. Her debut album, "Small White Town" is aptly titled. She grew up in rural Hopewell, NJ. She ended up being the only one of 7 black kids in her high school.
Her big break is coming, that I know. chench.com/emusic/

ACL Music Festival - Saw Daniela Cotton Live

"I caught Daniela Cotton live Friday afternoon at the Austin City Limits Music Festival ([...]) and they put on THE show of the day.
Her vocals are powerful - cross between Janis Joplin and Tina Turner and the band as a whole were awesome: versatile in range (from the get in your face rock to the bring it down a notch vocals).
If you ever get a chance to see her live - you won't be disappointed as they blew away bigger and more well known bands appearing that day - can't wait until they hit the big time as they are well on their way.
Entertaining and crowd pleasing to say the least - from their own tunes to closing their set with the AC/DC cover of Back In Black.
Rock on Daniela! Thanks for playing Austin, Texas!

"Danielia is HOT new artist, with such a variety in her music it is refreshing. She is a soulful, hard rocker! :) I saw her perform and she did AC/DC's "Back in Black," almost better than AC/DC themselves, and then did Hendrix! Of course all the music that night was her own, and it was amazing. I HIGHLY suggest this CD because it is amazing! I can't wait to hear more from this awesome talent! Go Danielia!"
Danielia is the real deal!

"One of the best contemporary musicians you will ever see or hear. Quite simply, every song on this CD is amazing, and I find myself turning up the volume, until it becomes almost painful.
I caught Danielia Cotton and her band when she opened for Buddy Guy in New York City in 2007. I sat there and thought I would have to sit through the opening act to get to the real music. Boy was I wrong! It didn't take long to see (and hear) that she was indeed the real deal.
Her closing version of Back in Black could compete with AC/DC, blasphemous as that may be. This girl can R-O-C-K. Quite simply, this is one of the only modern CD's I have, and I am hopeful she releases some new tracks soon.
She is a true 5 Star Talent in a world of churned out 1 Star idols who are billed as Superstars. When she goes on stage she is not there to please Simon or Paula, or to try to get votes.....she is there for one reason: to rock. How refreshing, as I had thought rock was dead. If you can, see her perform live, as it is highly recommended.
She is the real deal. And anyone who has seen her live can attest to that."
