All of these songs are redone by some guy named Daniel Caine.Most of the songs sound either slightly off (the older,simpler tunes) or way off (the newer,more advanced tunes) from the originals.Why not just put on the original themes by John Carpenter? Buy the original soundtracks instead,you'll be glad you did." And usually every Halloween, there is some new compilation of Horror Movie Themes that hit the stores, and when I saw this one I snapped it right up thinking here were all of Carpenter's tunes on one disk. Well.....these are themes from some of Carpenter's movies, but they are not the originals. Some of them are good, like the "Halloween Theme", "The Thing" and "The Fog". Some of them are okay like "Assault on Precinct 13" and "Escape from New York". But really....how many versions of the "Assault on Precinct 13" theme can you really want? I mean there are 3 versions of the main theme on here!! And then there are the bad, "Starman" and the unlistenable "Christine" which was just embarassing to listen to. This isn't a bad CD for background music at your next Halloween party, but if you really like the music of Carpenter's movies, get the soundtracks."
