CD Reviews

So relaxing and beautiful!
Angela Buonfiglio | Key West, FL USA | 07/29/2006

"I often put this on when I want to be lulled to sleep slowly. It creates a beautiful mood that soothes, soothes, soothes."
The Third Sound
Dan Sakach | Ohio | 07/22/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

""Heterogeneous ideas yoked together by violence." This famous phrase by Samuel Johnson describes the effect we get when we co-mingle discordant artistic expressions, in this case, sqawking sounds and gentle music.

In this CD, the discord is subdued, the yoke modulated, and the end product is a subliminal theme which transcends the two original threads.

This third theme emerges like a blossoming rose in slow motion.

The overall arrangement of the CD appears to be a diurnal cycle, beginning with a sunrise and ending with the next sunrise. A crackling campfire begins late in the evening accompanied by a soft guitar. No human voices can be heard, but there are plenty of owls, loons, robins, squawking hawks, chirping crickets, croaking frogs, and many others.

Near the end, we hear the third motif as a deep throated fog horn echoes off a distant mountain. No doubt this is a blast from a large cargo ship as it moves through a dangerous fog. This, in turn, inspires an energetic resurgence of the leitmotif. If you listen closely, you will sense how this horn's violent sound "yokes" the whole album together.

Sounds best at about 2:30 A.M. under a full moon of course. Great CD."
A Must for Healing Music lovers
jane lightburn | NAGOYA, AICHI KEN Japan | 07/19/2010

"The Dan Gibson series of nature sounds, bird song and various

instruments such as piano, harp, violin, guitar, etc. are one of

the best I have ever listened to. They are relaxing, renewing and

healing and one never tires of listening to them. I have used them

in writing classes at the university level while students work on

essays and they were well received. Healers will find these useful

in their clinics. The Gibson CDs are also good for light meditation

background music. If you love birds, healing music, and nature, then

this CD as others in the Gibson collection is worth the purchase.

Enjoy and relax."
