Synopsis

Album Description

This recording features exerpts from the Dalai Lame's public appearances when during a visit to Hawaii. Tracks include comments from His Holiness along with with music and chants from both the Tibetan and Hawaiian cultures. Although Tibetans and Hawaiians seem to exist in very different worlds, strinking parallels exist between the two peoples. Both share a reverence for nature and a close relationship with the land. Spirituality is an integral part of everyday life, and love is life's guiding principle.

"Here is a true collector's item. This CD captures the wisdom, humor and warmth of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama during a series of public talks in Hawaii. Interspersed with His Holiness' speaking is a nice mix of music and chanting from Hawaiian and Tibetan artists. For those listeners familiar with the similarities of the struggles of the Tibetan and Hawaiian people, His Holiness' comments are particularly interesting. Makes a perfect gift for those who could use a little tranquility and common sense while driving the freeways! Also comes in cassette."
