Synopsis
Product Description Much loved for their innocence and simplicity of spirit, these songs are unabashedly devotional and deeply moving. Musically it is very light semi-acoustic, featuring guitar, voices, occasional harp and synth, with the odd rock number like Song for Freedom with its stirring chorus thrown in. Like a secret childhood treasure being re-discovered, this charming collection of spiritual folk songs springs surprise after delightful surprise on the listener. The arrangements are relatively simple and suit the mood of devotional innocence perfectly. This is an album you ll come back to again and again. Enchanting. Pure emotion channeled through music towards the divine, it leaves a lasting impression. |
CD ReviewsEnchanting Spiritual Folk Rock Nanx | Nashville, TN United States | 10/19/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "I was attempting to describe Dada Nabhaniilananda's style to a friend online to give some idea, is reminiscent of Cat Stevens. He is still an original.
This album is his earlier songs, gentle, and catchy melodies accompanied very nicely. The first cut, The Fire Dragon, sets the sweet and gentle, vibrant rocking tone for the entire album and the rest doesn't let down. One of my favorite cuts now on this one is Sweetest Baba, devotional as most are. The first time I heard Dewdrop in the Dawn, I felt a glow being evoked from within me. The Renunciate's Song is one of many catchy ones that likes to play in my mind. The Winters End is absolutely vividly picturesque but then so is the whole album. I would say that Dada N is painting with sound or creating pictures and ambiance with words and music. I imagine being in sunny, fragrant gardens when listening to any of his albums and never tire of this music." |
