Synopsis

Album Description
idely regarded as one of the premier selectors in the nation, DJ Heather demonstrates her skills and sharp deck acumen for the massive throughout her hometown Chicago and the world at large with verve and undeniable talent. She has released on several labels including Nordic Trax, 20:20 Vision, and will be launching her own Blackcherry Recordings in May 2005. Heather's also lent her warm voice to many tracks and has collaborations with Brett Johnson, Slater Hogan, Bobby Valentine, Miles Maeda, DJ Colette and No Assembly Required. For Fabric 21, Heather has created an energetic blend of jacking house, with firm yet groovy beats. Kicking straight in with Marko Militano's "Good People" the positive vibes start building through 2 Or More's "I Got Your Love." With the groove in full swing there are bumping tracks from Mario Fabriani, Kaskade, DJ Mes, and Mike Delgado, as Heather skillfully weaves around organic instrumentals and uplifting melodies. The mix closes on a thumping high with the soulful strains of Joey Youngman into Overtone.

CD Reviews

Funk at its best!
Joshua E. Tillman | Miami, FL USA | 05/11/2005

"Having heard Dj Heather's other mix releases and hearing her spin live I knew damn well what I was in store for. All I can say is damn, this girl keeps the funk going straight through without a doubt. Theres just something about the way she builds the set, and keeps great tracks going all the way through to the end. I rarely ever find myself not liking a song she selects. I don't know where I'd be without the Fabric series, I'm always impressed with the Dj's. If you want more bass thumping Dubbed out Funk in your trunk go get the mix."
We need more house mixes like this!
Nathaniel J. Kawa | Chicago, IL | 10/08/2005

"I am a Chicagoan and I know what good house music is. Unfortunately good house mixes can be few and far between. Either they are too commercial and wear on you quickly or they are so minimalistic that they put you to sleep. House is supposed to be uplifting, its dance music. Heather hits it right on the mark with this album. It starts kinda chill but as the mix progresses it gathers steam and keeps building. By the end of the set shes worked you into a frenzy and you want more. I know this will be in my CD player for a long time."
