CD Reviews

Stunningly astonishing.......

"Bova's immensely layered but darkly ambient synthesizers and Haas eerie

sampled percussion and sounds creates an amazing audio world.

I also have listened to these discs to death and feel this duo is HUGELY

underrated (and also sadly unknown) to most of the world.

I highly recommend "Nothing Lasts" as it included the contents of both

"Decoder" and "Security" as well as a series of untitled ambient bonus

tracks.

The best I can describe this music is if the musicians of 1970s-1980s

Tangerine Dream had access to modern synthesizer equipment, kept

the avante garde aspects plus the melodicism from the 1979-1980

group but kept things darkly minor or meditative.

Highly recommended. The last time I e-mailed Mr. Bova he mentioned

that he had hoped that Mr. Haas and he would reconvene for another C7

production but that was several years back - I suspect stuff this good

just doesn't see the light of day very often. Get it while you can, it's an

uncanny classic.

A total "must have" for your collection!

"This is a 2 CD set that contains the albums "Decoder", and "II" together. I've played it so many times, I think the laser on my player has probably burned through it already. Total thinking, moving, and sometimes emotionally releasing music. Ambient, but melodic. The rythms will stay in your head for weeks. No hip-hop here, just great lines, and rythms. The Suspicious Shaman, and Ladder of Lights are the best. I'm searching for more like this, but I can't find it! Did Jeff or Alex do anything else?"
