"About 1924 is where this exellent CD starts with the complete recordings of Curtis Mosby, who led the hottest dance band in Los Angeles in the 20's, and probobly was the hottest band in California. There are three versions of Tiger Rag, all three with enough variations to justify listening to them all in a row, and still be just as excited each time you hear Tiger Rag. There are also some rare recordings at the end of this CD(Since there are not enoough Mosby tracks to fill an entire CD) from the 30's from a band led by Henry Starr in Europe, though these sides are less essential, yet intersting. However the main reason to get this CD is for Mosby's hot and very jazz oriented band, making this CD essentail for rare and vintage jazz collectors, pick this rare Canadian import CD up before it goes out of print."
