CD Reviews

Music that makes you move and think at the same time.
Derek Howard | Denver CO. USA | 12/01/1999

"The Crossing, what can I say but its about time. Bravo Mr.Taylor for creating a collection of works that are dynamic, delightfuly rich, and wonderfully smooth. Sitting on my deck in the pines or driving in the car it is a pleasure to listen to a composer with your style and complexity. Keep it up can't wait for the next one!"
Tom Taylor gives me hope for new music's future

"I've been following Mr Taylor's work for two decades, and I'm amazed how difficult it has been to find this important composer's work. His music is engaging on a viseral level, and though perhaps a bit challenging on first listen, I find his tunes hard to put out of mind. Like Monk, the first time you hear his stuff you say "well, that's another way music could sound" but then it grows on you. I find myself wondering why other composers aren't putting that much thought and effort into their work. I listen to Taylor's stuff on long car trips, and before you know it you're where you need to be. Bravo to you guys for picking him up."
Unique-Well Thought Out and Well Played

"Tom Taylor has created a unique combination of classical, jazz and folk music in his CD "The Crossing". The music is meticulously conceived and orchestrated but also allows for improvisation by the players. "The Crossing" is a treat for listeners who are searching for something different. "Aubade" was selected as one of the winners in the Best Unsigned Band contest. Judges included Tori Amos, Vince Gill and Joe Satriani. Well conceived and well played!"
