The Creation of Sunlight album is perhaps the last great musical secret of the '60s. Clearly influenced by the jazzy vocal psychedelia of Strawberry Alarm Clock, this record is definitive west coast psychedelic sunshine pop - packed with gorgeous harmonies, driving Hammond, minor-keyed melodies and eclectic guitar. Formed in Long Beach, California in 1968, the group was originally named The Sunlights Seven, recorded a single and started recording an album to be called Sunstroke. Eventually, the project was scrapped. The band signed to the Windi label, changed it's name to Sunlight, released another single, changed it's name to the Creation of Sunlight, released yet another single and then at last unleashed their acid masterpiece.
