Synopsis

Album Description
This is the first full-length CD from New York-based singer/songwriter Craig Silver. The songs cover a lot of ground, not to mention space, both inner and outer. Silver tackles many of the hot-button topics of today, from cloning to the Internet, usually with a humorous bent. His songs also touch on the universal quest for love, emotional survival and spiritual fulfillment. Although primarily acoustic-based, there's a lot of variety in the songs, with elements of rock, country and even Tin Pan Alley mixed into the line-up. One commentator has dubbed the music "space folk," perhaps because of the pronounced mystical edge to many of the songs. The CD was produced by Nick Holmes, a stellar producer/composer who's provided material to such music notables as Carly Simon, Bette Midler and Jerry Jeff Walker, among others.

60's type Folksongs About New Millenium Topics

(5 out of 5 stars)

"When I play his CD it's like I'm back in the 60's & 70's ACTUALLY LISTENING to the words...looking for what the songwriter is saying....about the internet...cloning...the environment...life. The up to date thoughts are accompanied with music which reminds me of The Electric String Band, Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan ( in fact "Everybody Must Get Cloned" is sung to the tune of Dylan's "Everybody Must Get Stoned"...it works! ).So...I put it on and feel spurred on to get even more active in community stuff...start up hippy-like potluck parties again(I WILL!)...and dress more individually (hmmm, now where can I get a nice pair of hiphugger bellbottoms?). Like it a lot!"
