"This is not a review but a cautionary note -- obviously Amazon's employees are ignorant of the fact that there are two Cormac McCarthys in the Amazon inventory, one a folksinger, the other a distinguished novelist. If Amazon suggests audio CDs by Cormac McCarthy, the performer in question is not the noted writer. END"
Forget the name confusion

"Fantastic. I've been a big fan of singer/songwriters since the 60's and have favorites in folk, alt.whatever, blues, rock, jazz, world, bizarro, and other genres. This Cormac McCarthy is a first-class folkie. Beautiful baritone voice, sparkling gems of lyrics, way more than adequate guitar-work. Once you know him you won't confuse him with others, but for broad comparisons think of Stan Rogers, Ian Tyson, and Guy Clark. His web site indicates that he has been around quite a bit; especially in New England. He's a Mainiac. I picked up a CD from a collector friend's shelf because of name recognition (I really like the other Cormac's books). Boy am I glad I did. One of the happier freak convergences in my musical experience. So forget the name, give this guy a shot, he is very, very good!"
