With the release of her second CD `Stones' Cori discloses passion and finesse in her songwriting. Her lyrics are rich with a strong Canadian flavor, to the landscapes, personalities and stories she tells. It shows Brewster moving from mainstream country to a more country/folk, introspective sound. The lower-velocity, softer arrangements provide a more interesting vehicle for Brewster's lyrics. The sound, which places a greater focus on acoustic instrumentation than ?One More Mountain?, provides a contemporary, enjoyable sound. ?Stones? is a collection of twelve tracks, (with a bonus track) produced by Charlotte Wiebe and Cori. Recorded in Edmonton at Beta Sound with some of the finest Alberta musicians including Jerusalem Ridge, Mark Sterling, Mike Lent, Barrie Nignswander, Louis Sedmak, and John Towill. Stones gives the listener a sense that this women knows who she is and where she is going; an exceptional blend of social commentary, personal experiences, and reflections on life in general.
