The Sweetest Music

"I love this CD. My family and I listened to it over and over and over again, during the last few weeks of my mother's life. It has been a comfort to me in time of sorrow. Now it brings tears every time I listen to it. This music is like loving arms around me. It touches my soul. I've given so many away, I should have bought a case of them."
Peaceful, beautiful and inspirational.

"First off, I have to admit that I received a copy of this a few days early, because I'm part of the Choir and took part in recording this project. Having just heard it, I'm thrilled by how it turned out.

This is the first CD released on the brand new "Mormon Tabernacle Choir" record label. For those of you who have purchased the recent Telarc CD's, the sound here is a little thicker; it sounds more like sitting and hearing the choir in the Taberncle on Temple Square, whereas the Telarc CD's had a "drier" sound.

But the music is where this CD shines. Each song is an affirmation of life and hope. There are several new arrangements by Barlow Bradford and Mack Wilberg, the associate directors of the choir, and almost every piece is accompanied by the superb Orchestra at Temple Square. The booklet that joins the CD is also very nice: full lyrics are included, along with gorgeous pictures of lilies throughout, and the words of the Savior interspersed on each page. Personally, I have a hard time choosing a favorite song; I love each and every song that we recorded for this release. (Trivia note: also recorded for this CD, but not included was John Tavener's "The Lamb," which hopefully will show up somewhere, since it is stunning.)

Find a quiet time to listen to it; read the lyrics as you listen. I promise you that you will feel a sweet, peaceful spirit in this music."

"I like every song on this CD and LOVE most of them. Absolutely gorgeous arrangements of some beautiful classics, plus a couple you've probably never heard before. This goes at the top of my favorites list."
