CD Reviews

Best Spanish children's CD I've found

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is a beautiful CD and I am buying it both for my family and for gifts to friends with children. I have checked out many Spanish-language CDs for children at the library, and this was my hands-down favorite. Classic folk songs, a good variety of tempos, and beautiful men's, women's, and ensemble voices. I do not tire of listening to it and this is important when you buy music for young children. "Si Yo Fuera" is a hauntingly beautiful lullably-type song (it sounds like a lullaby--my Spanish is not good enough to be sure). Its melody has stayed with me from the very first time I heard it. "A Mi Burro" is a very funny song about trying all sorts of things to make a burro get well; its structure is the same as that of "A Partridge in a Pear Tree," which makes it a lot of fun to learn and sing along with. The musical accompaniment for most of the songs is simple but good--acoustic guitar, etc. Enjoy and buena suerte con appriendo Espanol!"
