"Many people in the North of Italy are proud not to like him. Its a group identity thing, Peppino is a "protagonist" for the Southern Italian and Mediteranean way of life. What's astounding is his natural way of using styles and "klisches" most would not even touch for an experiment. This man is though a miracle giving romance and feeling a life of its own in an open-hearted listener. If you refuse to feel, you probably get nothing out of it. Peppino really could be a perfect mode of preparing yourself for a trip to Napoli or Mediteranean countries. What comes through the music and singing (pluss text!) is an uncompromising hymn to what Peppino in an interview calls general love in life. Some "elvis-style", traditional-rythme arrangements might be unacceptable for younger audiences. Personally I prefer the melodic napolitan-inspired songs of pure beauty."

"This title mostly consists of the takes from a live recording in London. I am happy to know this singer has been popular in the UK too. His heart-warming voice and unique way of singing is some kind of healing ("Il Sognatore" is outstanding). I think, however, "Nun Chiagnere" is the best song because of its beautiful and nostalgic melody. I hope his fans will increase."
