"I disagree with mjespuiva's review of this Columbus Consort CD. If you can find this CD, by all means pick it up - it is a great effort that rewards with every listen. It is obvious from producer Joseph Pettit's meticulous liner notes that this was a well-researched project. The passionate and stellar performances evince this was a labor of love for Pettit and his fellow musicians. A winner!"

"This cd ought to be great - the singing school traditions, the Moravians are represented by excellent scores. Unfortunately, the performance fails to make any of the pieces sparkle. The album becomes merely one of several competent performance of early American Christmas music. Everyone should have one early American sacred music cd - start with the Boston Camarata or the Hillard ensemble; add this if you fall in love with the music."
