Synopsis

Album Description
Colouring Lesson can be described as a guitar-driven mix of rock, reggae, and ska. Their second release on Fowl Records, the label started by Jimi Haha of Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Targets combines many different styles of reggae, including dancehall, rocksteady, soca, and ska. The band lineup is as diverse as the music they play: lead singer Dev il was born in Hawaii, guitarist Rennie comes from upstate New York, bassist/DJ Stylist T. Rankin' hails from Kingston, Jamaica, and drummer Cliff is the only local in this Baltimore-based band. Colouring Lesson has been together in their current lineup for over three years, and they play the East Coast from New York to South Carolina.

This band kicks ***!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This band is based out of my hometown in Baltimore. I've seen them live multiple times, and not only do they put on a great show, but their music is phat as all hell. I would categorize it as reggae with heavy punk and ska influences; I like it better than any of those three styles on their own. If you can get out to see them, do it! Otherwise, buy their CD. It's a great buy!"
