Synopsis

Album Description
The glorious days of bands such as Racer X, Cacophony and guitarists such as Jason Becker and Marty Friedman are but distant memories, while the platinum albums of Joe Satriani are gathering dust on living room walls. But whose heart doesn't start to beat faster when they think back to those fabulous days of breathtaking, innovative guitar playing? To those days in which the musical and lyrical talents of excellent musicians were respected and admired by masses of music fans worldwide? Thorsten Koehne, the exceptional six string whiz had already released an album, The Secret Place, under the band Attack in 1995 before continuing to perfect his technique with the band Demon Drive, as well as being an on-demand musician for guitar clinics and session work. It was also at that time that the contact to bass player Jochen Mayer (Domain/Casanova, ex-Demon Drive) and to the current Code Of Perfection drummer, Frank Kraus (ex-Demon Drive, ex-Letter X) was formed. Whilst! looking for a suitable bass player for the new band, vocalist Carsten Lizard Schulz (Domain, Evidence One) recommended the popular Japanese session musician Keisuke Nishimoto, who turned out to be a perfect candidate for the job. Under the guiding hand of Jochen Mayer and with the support of well-known musicians such as the guitarist Alex Beyrodt and Michael Angelo Batio as well as the aforementioned Carsten Lizard Schulz and Axel Rudi Pell/Rough Silk keyboarder Ferdy Doernberg, the project slowly took on a form of its own. Similarly to earlier works of the 80's guitar heroes, Code Of Perfection's debut Last Exit For The Lost includes exciting, melodic rockers, hyperspeed instrumental hand grenades and relaxed westcoast guitar licks that underline the extraordinary versatility of Code Of Perfection.

Freakin Amazing!

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Hey- if you love shred guitar or shred metal then buy this CD! It's as simple as that. The Record company's description is accurate. If you grew up listening to Paul Gilbert (in the racer x days), Jason Becker and Marty Friedman in Cacophony...or any of the other shrapnel records guitar slingers then you would love this cd. It has 3 songs with lyrics and the rest are instrumentals. Basically this cd is a guitarist wet dream...shred guitar all over the place, and not just shred for the sake of shred, but truely kickass shred with melodies. The production of the recording is another thing that really impressed me about this CD. It's crystal clear. You can hear every finger scorching note that is blazed through out this cd without things getting lost in the mids like so many of the shrapnel record recordings were like. This cd really grew on me. I couldn't wait to get home from work and pop this cd on, but then again I'm a guitar player and I love really technical guitar music. That's what these guys are....very technical (almost robot like precision) but still maintain melody and that sense of "feeling" in their music....don't let the guitar shred scare you, buy this CD!.....good work guys!"
