Serving as his dissertation is his first solo album, Gotta Mind to Travel, an impressive document which should pass muster with any examining committee. Montoya has long been known as a tasteful, eloquent guitarist, but on this debut he also reveals a surprisingly strong, supple singing voice and a clever instinct for songwriting. "More country, than blue?? Listen to "Someday After Awhile" or "You Don't Love Me". How could you even mention country, These songs make me want to lay on the floor and cry. Overall, one of the best CD's I have ever heard, every song on it is good, can't go wrong buying this one"
