Greatest Hits/ Greatest Themes
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This would be my first choice for anyone who has not heard Clannad or just beginning to become a fan. This album contains all the well known themes, "HARRYS GAME,A DREAM IN THE NIGHT, SOLDIER BOY and THE PIRATES (from The Angel and the Soldier), I WILL FIND YOU (from Last of the Mohicans), ATLANTIC REALM, and ROBIN (The Hooded Man),(from The Adventures of Robin Hood). This is truly a collection of well known Clannad tunes. Buy this one today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Excellent CD with some rare treasures.

"I reviewed their "Rogha Best of Collection" and while I like it a lot musically speaking, I found the album somewhat limited in scope. "Themes" in my opinion has a larger range of what Clannad released during their later career as of this writing.

What really makes this CD a great sampler is that it has some songs that more than likely appear on soundtracks to TV shows that are long out-of-print such as "The Dolphin Connection", and others.

Their cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" is among my favorite cover songs of all time with a gorgeous New Age ambience with a duet between lead singer Moya Brenna and former Mister Mister Paul Carrack at the helms. Other marvelous tracks are the heavenly ethereal "Atlantic Realm", the ominous "I Will Find You" to the marvelous closer "Theme From The Dolphin Connection". This entire album is marvelous from start to finish.

I could rant about the astronomical number of useless "Best of" compilations that we've been bombarded with but "Themes" is a wonderful 13 track collection."
First Album Bought And Still My Favorite

"This was the first album of Clannad's that I bought and even to this day my favorite and most played of theirs. I own several of their albums and love them all, but I always fall back to this one to listen to time and again. Ancient Forest, Robin (The Hooded Man) and Lady Marian are a few of my favorites on the album, but really, all the songs are beautiful and speak for themselves. Each song truly tells its own story."
