CD Reviews

Deep repetetive house at it's best!
Grado | Stockholm Sweden | 01/29/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"In my search for deep repetetive house/trance this is absolutely one of the best pieces I've come over. I've not heard anything like it in this genre. This style is between House Techno and Trance and the tone is all through atmospheric. Hypnotic beats and bass with long deep strings in the background makes you melt. This CD makes it both on the dancefloor and at after or before parties. If you are a fan of Deep Dish, Terry Lee Brown, Pete Moss Sasha/Digweed or Timewriter you have to check this out."
Excellent tracks for the perfect background groove

"This certainly slipped out into the release stream with little fanfare, a bit surprising when you think of the range of DJ's, house and trance, playing their tunes. The duo of Paul Davis and Matt Jackson certainly pack enough rhythm and intricate drum programming to keep the spinners interested, and here their progressive-leaning, vocal-free tunes are collected into a two-disc album that explores every nook and cranny within the limited musical boundaries they've set. Mostly served at mid-tempo, the tracks may sway a bit ambient ("Cerise") mellow ("Turquoise") beautiful ("Green") or sultry ("Scarlet") but stick to the prescribed plan. That's certainly not a criticism; the stores are lined with records of lofty goals and failed achievements, and if this were a bedroom-produced IDM album their proficiency would get raves- but this is house music, which seems so easy to make. Track by track this is excellent, but over the course of one CD (or two) it inevitable blurs into a comfortable background groove. Which is fine, some days the music doesn't have to be the star."
This would be a great CD if I could ever get my hands on it
