Synopsis

Product Description
Circe Link?s new record One Drop of Poison is a cohesive blend between her first recording More Songs, an innocent low-fi often bare bones production, and Let?s Go Together he second release a slicker more detail oriented endeavor. One Drop of Poison has the organic appeal of rich and warm acoustic guitars, the ever present upright bass, an unusual addition of clavinet, smoking violins and the spell casting voice of the artist herself, while appealing to a standard of sonic skill and songwriting rarely seen but more than appreciated by all who have had the pleasure.

CD Reviews

An Extraordinary Album
Keith Nichols | Danvers, MA | 06/29/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Wow! I just discovered this extraordinary artist and album. I can't imagine what muse Circe Link connected with to produce this music, but I hope they stay connected for years to come. I'm not really into western swing revival (her dominant style), but I do have eclectic tastes, and tend to find the most inventive song-writers in any genre. By any measure - lyrics, instrumentation, expression - all of the songs on One Drop of Poison are great. And I do mean ALL. Want witty and playful? - try One Drop of Poison, Sorrow for Three, or Went and Fell in Love. Like poignant? - try Can't Make the Rain Fall Down, Downtown, or Lovely Moon. Into hard-driving? - you can't miss with Love's Train and Black the Sky. Had enough of every promising or over-hyped artist who doesn't quite measure up? - try Life is a Bitch - and every other song on this album. It will become one of your handful of absolute favorites.
