CD Reviews

Classy House

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Tommy Boy has released yet another stunner with this 2 CD compilation, following their usual formula, however never boring, voice and rhythm CD1& CD2 respectively. There is a style here reminiscent of good ol' House represented in a modern retro feel especially in CD1. This is evident in the luxurious and classy tracks of Love In War (Pete Gust KID Remix) - Rucyl, and Lift me Up (Halo & Kemal Dub) by Halo/Kemal, which is so befitting of NYC's Downtown's ultra-chic Meatpacking District and it's infamous nightclub, Cielo. A place where Cool, happy people gather for an exquisite nightlife experience of soulful, deep and uplifting House music represented here in the Club's fifth anniversary release in Cinco.

Neither 140+ bpm to be found here, nor frantic crescendo climaxing to a point that soon ends like a teenager's libido. Just Classy (I know I said that before), mature and TRUE House before House music had any labels or genre. Both CDs are immaculate with great track selection and mixing, never a dull moment. And NO, this compilation is not for a good warm-up or chill-down as before/after night of clubbing. This compilation is the main course....it is the real deal to be enjoyed all by itself, and be uplifted just like Cielo's club goers are in pure ecstatic undulations.

Bring Cielo into your Livingroom

"As someone who has gone to Cielo on more than one occasion I can confirm that this mix brings a slice of the real Cielo to your Ipod or Stereo. The mastering of the CDs is very trebley (as a result you can't listen to this CD quiet), but if you turn it up, it sounds awesome. They basically EQd the CD like it would be played in a nightclub. Keep that in mind. If you love the Cielo sound, you'll love this CD. I play it when my remixing and party animal buddies come over, and they love it. Buy it!"
AWESOME COMPILATION!!!
