Chrome - '3rd From The Sun/Into The Eyes...' (Cleopatra)
Mike Reed | USA | 08/02/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"It's GREAT to have these two Chrome lp's tagged onto one CD.Specailly '3rd From...'.The seven track effort was originally released in 1981,Helios Creed is on lead guitar and Damon Edge(R.I.P.) is on lead vocals. As for Chrome, one might say they were one of the very first industrial bands to come out of the wood works. This lp truly rips!!The two heaviest tunes are the title cut "3rd From The Sun" and "Armagedon".Other worthy numbers would be "Shadows Of A Thousand Years" and "Future Ghosts".The second lp here is 'Into The Eyes Of The Zombie King' which came out in 1984.Creed wasn't on the record and it isn't AS good or as heavy. It is okay with Edge once again on lead vocals, wailing to tracks like "Trip The Switch" and "Humans In The Rain".Edge's real name was Thomas Edward Wisse,as if it makes any difference.Creed STILL to this day tours and records regularly.I know because I've seen him play twice recently."
3rd from the Sun is great

"True, nothing from 3rd from the sun is as mind blowing as "I am the Jaw" or anything like that, but I think Firebomb is a true fine song and especially for the unititiated, this album is definitely worth a listen."
SETTIN' THE RECORD STRAIGHT...

"o.k! this cd has two EXCELLENT "albums" on one cd,from two different time-periods of the bands career- one,the earlier "helios creed" era (in my opinion, far superior to "half machine../alien soundtracks - way more focused)and the second being from the post-Creed,moved-to-France era. Most people are really negative about this album- I dont know why, because it has a real haunting Numanesque dark electro vibe, great lyrics, etc.

Still Chrome (though missing Helios)and still worth your time.."
