CD ReviewsGreat Recording of Seldom Heard Music H. Miller | Greenbelt, MD United States | 11/29/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I'm currently addicted to this recording. I found it browsing the shelves of the music library at my school and was pleasantly surprised. I don't know a great deal about this musical tradition or much about the culture/time period it comes from, but this recording is intriguing enough to make me find out more. The booklet includes notes in Greek, French and English and explains the notation and theoretical aspects of the music, good for people interested in the mathmatic side of music. It also gives notes on individuals pieces. I definitely recommend this if you're looking for something different in classical music and interested in something that has tinges of "middle eastern" sounds."
