"Suites for Dance has a distinct feeling that is different from Matjias' first CD, Standing Alone. Standing Alone offers the listener a soulful journey through the vehicle of a solo piano. Suites for Dance, offers just as rich a journey but with layers of complexity provided by Chrispin Campbell's cello and Chris Peck's sound treatments which add layers of depth that seem surreal at times yet ephemeral in other moments. The cover art, photos by Allisa Centivany, add sensuality to this CD. Her photos of the female figure rely on line, shadow, and form to create magnificent visual components that match the music. This CD is a sensuous combination of visual and the musical aspects that make it a "must have" for any music library. It is a CD you will find yourself putting on heavy rotation. With each listening, I discover more layers in the music, which reveal new interpretations."
