Synopsis

So what do Celine Dion, Kenny G, and Patty Loveless all have in common? They all team up with Alvin and the Chipmunks for this collection of oh-so-cute Christmas classics. Kenny G's nasally woodwinds are a perfect complement to the Chipmunks sound, and the reworking of their "Chipmunk Song" seems almost new because of it. Celine teaches the critters a lesson in French with "Petit Papa Noel," while Patty Loveless puts some twang in the Chipmunks' furry hides with "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." There are more, ahem, "artistic" moments here with the woodland heroes hooking up The Boys Choir of Harlem for "Christmas Time Uptown." And through some studio magic, Gene Autry appears with the Chipmunks for a sing-along of his classic "Rudolph." Adults will probably get more than one laugh out of this if the kids don't drive them crazy with it first. --Steve Gdula

CD Reviews

I and my child love this cd
Rhonda Sers | Natchez, La. United States | 12/07/2001

"This is the second copy of this cd I bought, My other one was played so much that it got scratched. I wish they had a video to go with it. I love the track with Alvin being a mennance. on the little drummer boy. I tried to order it again 2 years ago and it was out of print. so I was really excited when they re-released it. It is enjoyable for adults and children."
Going to more of an adult sound. LOSE THE CRAPPY DIALOGUE!

"This would have made for a wonderful CD that kids and Adults could enjoy together, but some of the songs are realy stupid.. A comes before B, and the terrible verson of The little Drummer Boy really drag down the CD.Alvin sounds like a bratty kid who seems to think that if Santa doesn't get to him first, then he will not come at all. The little Drummer Boy shows Alvin being way out of control dring some concert. If these songs were ment to be funny, I must not have caught the joke...Liked... Here Comes Christmas, Petite Papa Noel, The Chipmunk Song, I don't want to be Alone for Christmas, and Rudolph The Red Nosed Raindeer... Other then the 2 stinkers on the CD.. It could have been better without the 2 songs mentioned..."
