These are masterworks of the genre! Can I say "Wow!;" this version of Dance, Dance, Dance is something else! I was unaware of the length of the songs! I have no sense of time as it is, but I'm thinking "shouldn't this song be over?!" Needless to say, these aren't the ones I remember hearing on the radio [or those found on soundtrack albums.] Although I got this one for a steal, I had thought about passing this up, as I knew I had three of my favorite Chic songs on my 70s soundtracks/compilations at home anyway. Everyone, don't let this one pass you by! This would make for perfect workout music, and even now, I'm thinking one could create a super-fantastic ballroom dance routine!! I can just visualize a whole throng of sweaty bodies gettin' down to these jams back in the day! Not a single edit to found here...unlike 'The Very Best Of Chic' disc, which does have a few more tracks (as radio edits). I also enjoyed reading the extensive liner notes & rare photos in the CD booklet. IMO, 'Dance, Dance, Dance' is the better Chic compilation, and I decided to personally remaster my original 1991 disc to get rid of the dreaded muddled sound & analog hissing (these are problems with all of the CDs released on Atlantic's 'Re-Masters' Series from the early 1990's.) I also added 3 BONUS TRACKS...12. A Warm Summer Night (1979), 13. Rebels Are We (1980), and 14. Stage Fright (1982).
If you already own 'Dance, Dance, Dance', consider remastering it yourself, and enjoy an even BETTER single disc tribute to Chic! If you don't have this CD, get a nice used copy for the low-low here on Amazon...your collection is incomplete without it! Peace, SD (of 'Chakasworld') " |
