CD Reviews

Not bad but not great either
Shock Stick Monkey | Astoria NY | 01/05/2007
(3 out of 5 stars)

"This is fairly good album from the mid to late 90's era metal industrial. My main criticism of the album is that there isn't alot of difference between the songs, they tend to sound the same from one to the next. I wouldn't spend more than $5 on this album, it's outdated and there were far better industrial/metal bands in the 90's that were more original, innovative and interesting."
Still the peak of the current "Christian Industrial" scene
Shock Stick Monkey | 02/26/1999
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Well, I must say that this album is still the apex in the development of "Christian Industrial" music. This statement has good and bad implications. For example, one track is definitely a throwback to NIN's "wish", which in my opinion is a terrific display of angst. It does not however, posses that same raw production as NIN, Foetus, Einsturzende Neubauten, etc. This album seems a bit processed to me...but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Some tracks allude to Psalm 69-era Ministry. Very heavy stuff going on here. With the help of the then Scott Albert of Circle of Dust, some tracks acheive a very high level of chaos-- an important element of industrial music. However, in the end this album seems to have been thrown together too quickly. Perhaps if more thought went into this album, it could truly be a contender with mainstream industrial and post-modern artists. However, it'll just have to settle for being a darn good try. Get it anyway. I still highly recommend it."
Great industrial sound and awesome lyrical content

"Having come from a background of Metallica and NIN, this CD was exactly what I was looking for. The Industrial type sound on this album got the blood going, but it was the intense lyrics that hooked me. For instance, on "SoulScum" the lyrics "I am the Scum, what can be done to save me?" opens up the door to what Jesus has for everyone! I love this CD. I have purchased three CD's, but I have given them all away to friends and high school students as an alternative to "alternative" music. If they can get the "beat" with a positive message than my $15 was worth it. I hope Chatterbox goes back to studio and puts out another quality product!"
