"This CD is the bomb! I have been a fan of Anita BAker for yrs. and this cd did not let me down! She and her co-lead singer both have powerful soothing voices! I love the slow jams; Ready for your love,We need your love, I wanna be your girl & Let's get together. My favorite fast track is Come and boogie."

"Anita Baker is the lead singer for CHAPTER 8...Late 70's band that disbanded because execs said BAKER could not SING...Were they CRAZY.."I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR GIRL" is a CLASSIC even if it is not well know. Must have if you love old school ballads"
A Chapter in 80s Soul and R & Bee...

"...early 1980, me and my buddies were try'na get into Lakeside Palladium to see the hometown heroes and funk super funk group with the same name of the place they were gonna play in--Lakeside. Westside Dayton, Ohio. My buds were excited because they grew up with the dudes. I was an aging preppie from out of town--fresh outta college and with a decent job at a research firm...The warm up band for Lakeside that night? A group from Detroit that just had a hit they were playing on WDAO, Dayton's hip station. Chapter 8.I didn't know then, (and I was so close to the stage, I could've touched her) but that lady singer turned out to be the great Anita Baker. And the group's keyboardist, Michael Powell, and she were not too far from making history...I kick myself in the pants 'cause I also had a chance to buy her a beverage or something, but I ended stepping outside for some air, 'cause the place was packed and I have like a mild delusional persecution complex. Thus, I am terrified of; #1 being trampled on, and #2 rejection.Anyway, the group was great that night and had it not been for those greater things which were ahead for Anita and Powell, we'd probably would have known them exclusively for their music with Chapter 8...(By the by, Lakeside turned out to be awesome that night, too)"
