"As a fresh ear on this band my review might be a little more objective than people who were there at the time. To me this band sounds like a mix of Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, and Psychadelic Furs. I'm not saying they are derivitive (every band is influenced by something though) but they sound like a product of their time. I would say that the Chameleons never hit the peak of the "hits" of the previously mentioned bands, which probably explains why they are not as well known. However, they do have very solid and good songs throughout. I would say that their "best of" is a more solid offering than that of Psychadelic Furs, the Chameleons just don't have the really high points. If you like similar music, this band is deffinitely worth checking out and why not start with this compilation?"
