CD Reviews

You'll laugh and have a good time, but it's not fun.

"More unbelieveable scientific evidence that celebrities are as stupid as we are. This volume is not quite as funny as volumes 1 and 2, which is probably why it is "2.9" instead of "3", which came out later. Less celebrity cursing this time around, and more oddball stuff. Here is what you get:

Joan Crawford - acts like a devoted mother during a promo for the Jimmy Fund and a radio show that spends Christmas Eve with her family.

Roger Waters - gets pissed off and cusses out the audience at a concert.

Courtney Love - cusses out an audience member at a concert and leaves a nasty message on a reporter's answering machine.

Mark Lindsay - sings ads for dolls and cars.

Sharon Tate - does a suntan lotion commercial.

"Manson" ad - for a movie about you-know-who.

Joe E. Ross - tells a joke about LSD.

Angelyne - performs a dirty version of Li'l Red Riding Hood.

Florence Henderson - teaches about driving safety.

Melvin Belli - leaves messages on his daughter's answering machine asking for his television back.

Porky Pig - says "son of a b-b-b-b-b-b..."

NBC Memo - is an in-house production number by NBC employees making fun of how bad their ratings were that year.

Peter Frampton - records car commercials

Voices of the 70's - is a "medley" of lines from radio commercials.

Mae West - does commercials for Poland Spring and talks to a fan on the phone, while pretending not to be Mae West.

Talullah Bankhead - is half-drunk while recording a record.

Nina Simone - does a radio interview where she bitterly rails against racism, much to the befuddlement of the interviewer.

Joanne Worley - is bothered by "Stuttering John" Menendez.

Billy Crystal - is also bothered by "Stuttering John" Menendez.

The Nina Simone interview is the highlight of the CD. Totally jaw dropping stuff. The interviewer, a big Nina Simone fan, has no idea how to react to her angry diatribe. She makes some ridiculous accusations about racism in America being worse than it was in the 1960s, but being a fan of her, he doesn't want to contradict her. Although when she says she is against mixed marriages, he does point out that she used to have a white husband."
